A WHAT!?!
(very slowly) A yu u r r rt. Pronounced - yert.
Yep! We are building a yurt. Big Canyon's Aspen Lodge is winterized and ready to go. However, we don't really have an indoor dining area or kitchen. Since we don't have the money to build the Big Ranch House (dining hall), we decided to build a yurt. It will serve as the dining hall and kitchen for now.
Today's work was getting the forms in for the 30' (in diameter) concrete pad. The yurt will sit on the pad. Still don't know what a yurt is - do ya?
Mike took a day off (of his paying job) to come help for a day. He is digging the ditch for the forms.
Tony (concrete guy) and his young son, Anthony, took a day off (also from their paying job) to put the forms in.
Half-way done.
Finished! Ready for concrete. Great Job!!
The "Box Man" (that's what my little ones call the UPS truck) delivered the yurt. Brian is pulling the mysterious crates off the truck.
Still curious? Stay tuned.

LOVE the new look!
Thanks for stopping by, I like to have never got it where I could make a comment!! Problem on my side:) Your pictures are soo beautiful up there where you live...breath taking!! I love the mountains that are around!! Your family is beautiful and seems your guys enjoy stuff like us too. If our guys lived closer they could have helped out on the Yert, they do construction for a living!!
Keep in touch!!
Cindy
Can I say - we had so much fun looking up yurts last night for our family time. Brian even suggested that might be something that would go well in the Branson area. Only thing - would they be easily carried away by a tornado???
