Out of Character

I usually don't pick up books like these. I am more characterized by reading books about parenting or being a better wife. BUT... this book was given to us by friends and the wife highly recommended it. So, I started to read it and could not put it down. It is a true autobiography of two men, their separate lives and their lives after they met. WOW!!

WARNING: Be ready for the tears and the shock of the poverty that takes place even today in America.

This is our Zip Zip car. If you are looking for me aound town in our 12 passenger van - look no longer. I will be zip zipping in this. When I take the swimmers into practice or have errands to run, I will be driving this much more economical vehicle.

MOPS

I was asked to speak at a MOPS in Spanish Fork. So, I did. What a great group of women and a real treat to share with them. I spoke on Time Management and Prioritizing. With an emphasis on making Family a priority. Abbi and Maggie also went with me and talked about a few things we do in our family to make it run more smoothly. They did a great job and I love having them with me. It's fun to share these experiences with them.

Swim Swim!

Early Saturday morning, Hudson, Caleb and I found ourselves at a swim meet in Salt Lake. The boys did a great job. No personal best time improvements but they did well in each of their races. I enjoyed being with them and watching them race. I have found that swim meets are 90% waiting and 10% watching. And it is not a great sport for picture taking. Oh well. I did get some reading done.

Hudson was the first in this heat of Breaststroke. You probably can't see him but he is touching the wall in Lane 3 and the next kid behind him is in Lane 4 with the yellow cap.

Jessica turns 8!

Jessica is my brothers oldest daughter and she is about 5 weeks older than Maggie. Maggie helped her celebrate. They had a great time.

Maggie got her a tea party set. They dressed up and had a Tea Party.

They did the Walk Thru the Old Testament for the grandparents.

In Like a Lion

Great Day for Flying a Kite!

There was finally enough wind "with no snow" (key phrase b/c we have definitely had our fair share of wind - with snow this year) to make it possible for the children to fly a kite. A curious bald eagle came to check out the "shark" kite. It only took him a minute to figure out he was not interested. Probably looking for a flying buddy.

In my post titled "It's Official", I forgot to put a picture of my mom. This is one of my favorites. Tess is one day old. Both Abbi and my mom were there for Tessa's birth.

Sidenote: My mom had just finished 3 rounds of chemo therefore she had no hair and she had a fun season of hat wearing.

Time To Ride!

Abbi was in need of riding her horse. I took her and Hudson down to my parents first thing on Saturday. Their Papa (my Dad) went with them for a ride. They went across the street to an Equestrian Park and had a pretty exciting ride. Hudson played "rodeo" with his horse. Crow (his horse) decided to buck and bronc and that is what he did. Crow was not going to stop until Hudson was off. Hudson finally jumped off and the horse ran ahead to catch Abbi and Chief.

A storm was blowing in so it was a windy ride. Got a little exciting for the riders.
